12.  Website for young carers

Alex Fox writes: Your recipients might be interested in our new website for young carers, including those who look after a disabled brother or sister: www.youngcarers.net

The new website from the Princess Royal Trust for Carers is the first UK-wide resource for young people who look after someone in their family who has a disability or health condition. The site offers support via email, supervised messageboards and chat sessions and loads of useful of info. Young carers helped choose the design and content of the site.

The site is launched on September 1st. Email support will be available from October, when we have recruited two part-time support workers who will answer young people's questions, find info and be there to listen.
