Kids Active’s National Inclusive Play Network and new E group
Kids Active
runs the National Inclusive Play Network which comes under
the Playwork Inclusion Project funded by the DfES Sure Start Unit.
Despite the huge apparent increase in awareness around inclusion,
disabled children are still regularly left out of discussions
around play, and play is regularly left out of discussions around
the needs of disabled children. We feel it is more important than
ever to demonstrate the growing support and action on inclusive
play. One way of doing that will be by collating information from
Network members which will provide a detailed picture of the state
of inclusive play, childcare and leisure provision across England.
As a member of the NIP Network you will be regularly informed
about inclusive play and receive information about regional meetings
and seminars. You will also be able to take part in the
new NIP Network e-discussion group, which aims to provide a forum
for members to share good practice and discuss issues around inclusion.
If you are interested in joining the NIP Network - please
take a few minutes to complete a short questionnaire related to
your work and attitudes on inclusion. You will find the form at:
http://www.fontstuff.com/kidsactive/nipn/ and you can submit
your response online.
If you are already a member
of the NIP Network and have filled in a previous form, could you
please complete the new form as we are in the process of updating
our database. This will also serve to confirm your membership
of the Network. For further information on the work of Kids Active
including information on our training or publications, please
email:
pip@kidsactive.org.uk or tel: 0207 359 3073.
