ONE
DAY CONFERENCE
The Helping Relationship
between
practitioners and parents of babies & children who have disabilities
/ SEN
Monday
6th June, 2005 - 9.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
Newcastle United Football
Club, St. James’ Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4ST
This
conference is for everyone
who works
in some way with babies and children and their families in health,
education and social services, and in the voluntary and private
sectors in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
The helping relationship
is fundamental to effective support
for children and their families. Early intervention, assessment
of need, family service plans, keyworking, neonatal services,
pre-school support and early years education are all dependent
on the relationship between practitioners and parents. The conference
will discuss the nature of the helping relationship and how it
can be fostered by all practitioners.
