NATIONAL
DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - the Niemann-Pick Disease Group (UK).
(salary
band £ 22,512 - £ 24,000 )
A
rewarding and challenging opportunity for a self motivating individual
with proven initiative who is able to operate with a minimum supervision
has arisen. The NPDG (UK) are looking for someone to work
alongside their Board of Trustees and the Clinical Nurse Specialist
for Niemann-Pick Disease to manage and develop the Group’s activities.
Key areas of work include: partnership working nationally and
internationally, supporting families, conference planning, promoting
awareness, education, research collaboration and fulfilling the
day to day operational aspects of a Charity.
Experience
in the following areas is desirable :-
§
Working
in the voluntary sector with knowledge of voluntary and statutory
networks.
§
Dealing
with current legislation relating to children with disabilities
and their carers.
§
Understanding
the needs of families with children having disability.
§
Fund
raising.
§
Compiling
reports, editing newsletters and website content.
§
People
management.
The
successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate the following
skills:-
§
Good
oral and written communication and presentation skills.
§
Organisational,
administrative, database and word processing and presentation
skills.
§
Inter
personal skills.
§
Experience
of managing staff, as the Group also employs an administration
assistant who
works closely with
the NDM.
This
post would offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work
from home, they will be expected to work flexible hours (30 -
hours per week) , have a good sense of humour and have independent
means of transport.
