This conference is for everyone
who works in some way with babies and children and their families
in health, education and social services, and in the voluntary
and private sectors in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
The helping relationship is fundamental
to effective support for children and their families.
Early intervention, assessment of need, family service plans,
keyworking, neonatal services, pre-school support and early years
education are all dependent on the relationship between practitioners
and parents. The conference will discuss the nature of the helping
relationship and how it can be fostered by all practitioners.

HELEN GELDARD RGN RM MA (Education Studies & Autism),
Co-ordinator of County Durham Autistic Support Group and parent
of a child with ASD, will speak on:
Developing a Helping Relationship with parents of children
diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders
