28. Parents influencing service provision

? Are you a parent interested in knowing more about influencing service provision? Would your group want to get involved in influencing service provision? Want some help to get started?
? Are you a professional working with parents who might be interested in knowing more? Would they like a workshop to explore the issues and their ideas?
? Are you part of a group of professionals looking at developing the involvement of parents in shaping services? Would you like to know more?

Contact a Family can help you find out more or get started. We would be very happy to come and meet your group or staff team, run a taster session or a full day workshop on issues around participation. We can also facilitate discussion and planning as you get started. All sessions can be tailored to meet your needs and the time you have available. Sessions include:

? An introduction to participation. What is participation? Why participate? What could you achieve? What would it involve?
? Getting started. Practical steps to getting involved in influencing services.
? Being a representative. What is the role of a parent representative? Why is this important?
