25. Two new resources from Bodysense - sitting models and model
wheelchair

Two new, innovative and invaluable resources from Bodysense for teaching children and young adults with physical and learning disabilities about the human body and sxxual issues, and as an aid to developing skills in personal relationships and appropriate behaviour.

These resources have been designed to respond to the specific needs of those who are wheelchair users and who would not necessarily identify with standing models. The innovative design of the sitting models has created realistic movements at the hip and knees. The handcrafted wheelchair is scaled to the size of the models and is fully manoeuvrable and can be folded for storage and transport.

The half life-size, anatomically correct, realistic male and female cloth models are regularly used in clinic settings and by school nurses and speech therapists on a one to one basis to facilitate effective two-way communication.  Within Special Needs education they are an invaluable teaching resource to support learning about the adult body, sxxual behaviour and personal and sxxual relationships.

The Manager, The Revd. Jane Fraser, is and experienced consultant and trainer on sxxuality and disability issues who is able to offer training on the use of the models in a variety of settings.

Cost:
£475 for pair of sitting models incl. full users’ notes, clothing and p&p
