Maria
Bremmers, Network Project Manager, Autism London writes -
Autism
London has funding from the Department
of Health to map out existing help lines and information services
that support Autism services and service users. This will
be done in partnership with the National Autistic Society (NAS)
and other stakeholders.
Partners
in Autism, (PAN) will bring together
organisations that work in supporting people with Autism or Aspergers
Syndrome through technologies such as help lines, website information,
social forums, texting, and e-mails. We will look at the quantity
and quality of existing services, and discuss how we can develop
and improve these services within the health and social care provision,
ultimately forming a national autism helpline partnership.
You can
help me by telling me of any help lines
that have been really helpful/or not so helpful in providing you
with accurate and useful information. Also how do you prefer to
obtain information? Would you rather speak to someone on the telephone,
or by SMS or on a social forum such as My Space, or Second Life?
Or any other way that I haven’t mentioned. I am particularly
interested in hearing from service users and their experiences
of using help lines and other information services also.
